Hello,
i have been trying to get magento installed on my godaddy account for
couple of weeks.
i bought a theme off Envato and it was a one set install. lets just say the
coder that made the theme can’t get it to install and says its my problem
because it wont work and not there.
i have fallowed your steps and done everything and it still wont work 🙁 is
there any way you can take a look or something.
also great video!
very good, tnks
Seems some things have changed since this video was created. The php.ini
file doesn’t show up. You have to create it and clear out the web
processes to get the server to recognize it. Even with all of the steps
followed meticulously, I still am not able to get the install screen
up….any chance of a refreshed tutorial here soon?
Really Thanks for this step by step tutorial it really worked for me :)
heyy man first of all thank you for taking the time to do this is helping a
looot of ppl out there including a noob like me. So i followed your other
video “How to Install Magento CE via FTP or cPanel” i did it through the
filezilla and it didn’t worked out for me, did everything you did and
nothing worked out, tried everything on the web and still nothing.
I m trying this now everything is going perfect but thing is i m trying to
install magento into a subdirectory on my father’s website for now to learn
how to use it but my question is in the video you sended everything over to
the root, and copy the file from the (php.ini.sample) to your (php5.ini)
file at minute 13:50.Do do i have to do this backwards since i m installing
it in a sub directory? or all i have to do is to change the (RewriteBase /
mysubdirectory /) like you did in minute 19:17? Is there anything else i
must change to install it on a subdirectory?
please, i know this is a lot of questions to answer but i would really be
thankful if you could answers any of these. I m trying to help my father
with his business it would mean a lot to him if i could give his website a
new look.
thanks in advance man have a good week :D
Thanks, a great video for a a Godaddy install, but webhosts like Hostgator
for example has a one-click installer nowadays, saves all that work, its
all done for you. http://www.hostgator.com/apps/magento-hosting

Hi, I’ve tried following your instructions however I’m running into several
problems. 1) there is no .htaccess in any of the folders mentioned in your
comments or your video. 2) I keep on getting the error PHP extension
“mycrpt” & “gd” must be loaded, even though I’ve already edited the php.ini
file. Any ideas?
Is it possible to install Magento and WordPress on the same hosting server
in separate directories?
PHP Extensions “pdo_mysql” must be loaded. in installation
thumbs up! very helpful tutorial
Hi how are you. Good job but it doesn’t seem to work for me, I set up the
files like you did and when I want to install Magento (
servername.com/install.php) I get a message like this: Fatal error: Call to
a member function children() on a non-object in
/home/content/54/10097854/html/app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/Config.php on
line 946 Would you by any chance now what that is ?? I have checked the
system compatibility by magento-check.php file and it says everything’s ok.

I don’t know why you’re experiencing this problem… Have you tried
uploading a Magento file that is archived via a different format?
